Synthetic Transactions are used to monitor health and performance of web applications. You can use simple URLs or build complex JMeter scripts to access your site periodically. Applicare will fetch the specified URLs or run the provided JMeter scripts at user specified time intervals. You will be able to view the historical performance data of your site(s) in the User Experience Analyzer. Also you will be able to view the detailed trace data for each individual HTTP call if you have enabled Applicare Business Transaction Management on the target servers and for the accessed URLs.
Configuration
To configure Monitors, navigate to Applicare -> UEM -> Configure Synthetic Monitors. Applicare allows for both basic URL monitoring and the use of JMeter scripts for more perform complex tasks. With Jmeter scripts, you can automate processes such as login and perform multiple transactions and validations on a site. Ensure that your Jmeter scripts have the number the threads and Loop count set to before uploading them to Applicare.
Navigate to ->Synthetic User Experience Analyzer -> Settings (icon).
Click the NEW button located at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Type the name in the Name field
Select the Type from the type dropdown
Select the Node from the Node dropdown
Choose New from the group dropdown and enter the desired group name to create a new group. To add the monitor to an existing group, select the appropriate group names from the group dropdown.
Provide the Schedule Details.
Parameters Field
HTTP Monitor
Select the HTTP Monitor from the type dropdown.
Enter the URL in the URL field.
JMeter Script
Select JMeter Script from the type dropdown menu.
Upload the JMeter script file with (.jmx) extension in the JMeter script field.

Script Monitor
Select Script Monitor from the Type dropdown menu.
Enter the script command or specify the provide the script file path in the Script field.
Analyzer
With Synthetic User Experience Analyzer you can view the performance stats for your configured monitors in a real time, graphical and historical views. Double clicking on an entry in any view or a data point in charts will bring up the BTM trace view or the detailed JMeter script result view if the monitor is a JMeter script.

Individual Transaction Detail
Click the row from the Results grid to view the individual transaction detail.

To view execution details of a Jmeter script. click the zoom icon in the result grid.

Expand the Plus icon to view the details.

HTTP Monitor error Snapshot
If an error snapshot is available for the transaction then an image icon will appear in the message column. Click the image icon to view the error snapshot.
Execution Details
Here, you can view all the details related to the transaction.
Trace Details
Only accessible if Applicare BTM is enabled on the target server.

Click the zoom icon of the HTTP monitor transaction in the grid of the to view the trace details.

Click the zoom icon of the next to the JMeter transaction.
Expand the Plus icon to view the details and double click on the name to view the trace details

Edit Functionality
Select the row from the grid and click the Edit button to edit.
HTTP Monitor Edit
1. We can change the Group.
2. Modify the Schedule details.
3. We can change the URL.
4. Click the Apply button to save the changes.
JMeter Script Edit
1. Update the Group assignment.
2. Modify the Schedule details.
3. Click the Apply button to save your changes.
Script Monitor Edit
1. Modify the Timeout setting.
2. Update the Group assignment.
3. Adjust the Schedule details.
4. Change the Script as needed.
5. Click the Apply button to save the changes.
Pause / Start Functionality.
Select the row from the grid and click the Pause/start button to pause or start the monitor.
Delete Functionality.
To delete an entry, select the row from the grid and click the Delete button.
