COBOL Monitoring

Applicare supports COBOL and other legacy technologies without requiring source code changes by using Shell Script Sensors and Remote Commands. Applicare can ingest data from existing COBOL monitoring commands via Shell Script Sensors. For example, if you need to monitor, chart, alert, or report on queue sizes for COBOL requests, and you have a shell script named getQueuesize that utilizes COBOL/OS APIs to return the precise queue size, you can set up a Shell Script Sensor in Applicare to run at your desired frequency. Once the Shell Script Sensor is configured, Applicare will process the queue size data natively, enabling you to display, chart, and report on this data seamlessly.
